  • NSNL (No Sooner No Later): When freight shipments can’t arrive a day earlier or later than requested, this option guarantees to meet your target delivery date.
  • OTIF (On Time In Full): This option guarantees the right amount at the right time, providing the accuracy and efficiency retailers need to optimize delivery flow. 

NOTE: If used with our standard transit guaranteed service, we require adequate time for the shipment to move from the origin to destination based on our standard transit schedule. Be sure to choose an expedited solution if the shipment requires faster-than-standard transit. Also, NSNL shipments cannot be delivered on a standing appointment (such as at the retailer’s distribution center) unless it’s on the requested due date.

If you often require expedited, guaranteed, or other time-critical freight shipping solutions, consider becoming a Select Member. Signup is free, and once you have a Select account, you won’t need to do paperwork or request a rate quote for each time-critical shipment.

For guaranteed delivery by 5 p.m. on the standard transit date, Select members can either place the time-critical sticker for the appropriate service on the BOL or write the full service-level name in the special instructions section of the BOL.

Select members only need to contact the Time Critical team for shipments with deliveries by 10 a.m. or noon, for shipments greater than 10,000 pounds or 12 linear feet, or for expedited service. We accept EDI 204 pickup requests for guaranteed shipments. Signed contracts are only required when shipment pricing falls outside of tariff pricing.

Identifying Time Critical Service Level on the BOL

The shipper must indicate the appropriate time-critical service on the Bill of Lading (BOL). We provide stickers to Select members to make this process easier. Not a Select member? Simply write or type the appropriate phrase on the BOL according to the chart:
